Sheet Pan Fajitas with Garlic Texas Toast

Marinated chicken, peppers and onions tossed on a sheet pan and baked in the oven. Served inside warm garlic Texas Toast and topped with your favourite toppings.

This comforting family meal by Zimmy’s Nook is sure to excite even the pickiest of eaters with the addition of the ultimate Furlani Garlic Texas Toast.

Since weeknight dinners are typically crazy time as a parent, dinner should be quick, delicious, and really easy! This meal can be prepped the night before after the kids have settled down for the evening. The extra marinating time will also enhance the tenderness of the chicken and overall flavour of the meal. The next day just toss the sheet pan in the oven and bake. Then warm the Furlani Garlic Toast and enjoy.

Plus, offering a selection of toppings like lettuce, cheese, salsa, and BBQ sauce, allows everyone to personalize their own ‘fajita’ making dinner time interactive and fun.

Ingredients

Fajita Seasoning
Suggested Toppings, optional

Directions

Combine seasoning ingredients together in a small bowl. Stir well to combine.
Place chicken in a bowl, pour over 2 tablespoons of olive oil and toss to coat.

Sprinkle most of the seasoning over the chicken, cover and set aside. (Make the night before and tightly cover, refrigerate until 30 minutes before cooking.)

Preheat the oven to 425°F.

Lay the vegetables evenly on a sheet pan, pour over 2 tablespoons of olive oil and the rest of the fajita seasoning and toss well to coat. (Can also be prepared the night before).

Place the chicken on the sheet pan and spread the chicken and vegetables in an even layer across the sheet pan. (Do not overcrowd the sheet pan.)

Cook in the lower half of the oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F.

Place the Furlani Garlic Texas Toast on a sheet pan and place the sheet pan on the lowest rack in the oven to brown during the last 6 minutes of cooking. Flip the toast at 3 minutes to brown both sides equally.

Remove everything from the oven.

Serve in the warm garlic Texas toast with your favourite toppings, if desired.
