Meatball sliders are the perfect dish to serve at your next party or even to add a little something special to dinner. Putting the meatballs on Furlani Knots instead of regular mini buns makes the recipe a lot more flavourful!
Makes 6 sliders with 2 meatballs each.
In a bowl, combine the beef, garlic, parsley, salt, and egg. Gently mix until combined. Once blended form the mixture into 12-14 round meatballs.
Next, pour the tomato sauce into a large saucepan and cook over medium heat. Once the sauce is simmering, place the raw meatballs in the sauce and let simmer uncovered for 45 minutes.
Cover and continue simmering until sauce has thickened. The end goal is to have the meatballs be tender and have the absorbed sauce.
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 425°F. Arrange Furlani Knots on a baking sheet and bake until golden and fully warmed through, about 4-5 minutes. When meatballs are ready, cut open the knots.
Then scoop two meatballs with the tomato sauce onto each knot. Sprinkle cheese and add a couple of basil leaves. Place the tops back on and serve!
