Italian Grinder Sandwich Recipe

Sandwiches are a staple for busy families as they’re so easy to put together and are simply delicious! This Italian grinder sandwich made with Furlani Garlic Bread, definitely won over our tastebuds and is worth a try. It’s full of flavour and super juicy. Did you know the term ‘grinder’ originally came from tough Italian bread used to make the sandwich in which one would have to ‘grind’ their teeth to bite through all the layers of the sandwich?

Grinder Salad



Preheat oven to 425°F.


Begin preparing the grinder salad by adding lettuce, red onion, hot peppers (optional), and Parmesan cheese to a large bowl. Add the mayo and salad dressing on top and toss the salad until everything is evenly combined.


Open the thawed Furlani Garlic Bread down the middle and add deli meats to the bottom half and cheese slices to the top half.


Bake in the middle rack for 8 minutes or until cheese is melted.


Sprinkle salt and pepper on top of the tomatoes.


Remove from oven and place the seasoned tomatoes on top of the deli meat followed by lots of the grinder salad.


Place the other half of the sandwich on top and enjoy your delicious sandwich!
